So Ozzie is the first choice?

Hey, I like Ozzie Guillen. I think he's done a good job managing the White Sox, and I don't care if he's outspoken or not. It's a little refreshing to actually see someone not worry about political correctness and say what he thinks. Yeah, he's a jerk at times, but freedom of speech allows that.

I guess the White Sox are still happy with Ozzie also, as they plan to honor him with a billboard at the Caribbean Series.

The White Sox will honor Latin American baseball at the Caribbean World Series with an outfield billboard.

The billboard features manager Ozzie Guillen and will be highlighted at CASAS GEO Stadium in Mexicali, Mexico with the words: "El beisbol con Orgullo" (baseball with pride) inscribed.
I think this is a nice thing, but I am curious about the choice. Ozzie is controversial, and the most famous Latin player in the history of the White Sox is Minnie Minoso, one of the most underrated players of all time.

4-times 4th in MVP voting (the first time as a rookie)
another 8th place finish
2nd place in the Rookie of the Year award (behind Gil McDougal of the Yankees, who did not deserve it)
9-time All Star
3 Gold Gloves (when they proably meant a little more)
10 times lead the league in getting HBP (with 2 4th place finishes)
a career OPS+ of 130
Most Americans don't seem to know much about the history of the game anymore, and the players beyond the 90's, but I know in the Caribbean they remember. The older players are still revered, and everyone knows about them. With all due regard to Ozzie, it just seems to me that Minnie would have been a much better choice.
