A Runelvys sighting

For those of you who are Royals fans (all 2 of us), you be happy to know that there has been a Runelvys Hernandez sighting. He's alive and well and playing in the Korean Baseball League.

After spending most of 2008 in AAA, then being bombed with Houston in 4 starts, after being out of the majors for a year.

Previously, he pitched for the Royals for 4 years, posting two decent years, and two bad ones. For some reason, Hernandez has become the poster boy for all that is wrong with the Royals. That seems unfair, as there has been a lot wrong with the Royals over the last 10+ years. I always thought Hernandez had potential, but it never seemed to come to fruition.

In Korea, as long as he's healthy, he'll be a starter, and most likely get the opening day nod. Good for him. I hope he pitches well and gets a chance to make it back to the bigs. He'll be 31 this season. He could still make it back.

Runelvys was fun. He was a competitor, especially for that magical 2003 team. I speak as though he were dead...

I know. He pitched pretty good, then had a down year, and all of a sudden, he was a pariah, and no one wanted him anymore. There were a lot worse players in 2004.
