Homecoming game

The first Filipino to play Major League Baseball, Eugene Macalalag Espineli, a reliever for the Giants is going home to play in the Baseball Philippines' Series IV finals.

Except he was born in Houston. But I don't really have an issue with that. I don't like the ideas of Americans being given citizenship in other countries so they can represent them in international competitions. Especially when it along of the lines of thier grandparents or great-grandparents were born in that country.

But his family is from the Philippines and he's just going back to play in the series. I actually applaud that, because with the money these guys make, they can easily ignore these opportunities and just stay home. So kudos to him.

I'm actually surprised there haven't been other Fil-Am's to play in the majors, due to the long history our countries have together. Especially with troops being stationed there for so long, which is a normal way for baseball to spread.
