Down, but not out

My internet is down right now and I can only get to a cafe occassionally. I'll be back up as soon as I have access again.

Now for something completely different

For those of you who are interested, and even for those of you who are not, I've decieded to go ahead and do what I said I wouldn't do.

I'm going to do a blog on the 2010 Kansas City Royals. I've been a fan since 1972, and will remain one forever, in spite of Dayton Moore and Trey Hillman.

It's nothing spectacular. Just my ramblin's on what I see. Come check it out.

What this is all about

I'm an American from west-central Missouri, living in the United Kingdom. The four great loves of my life are my daughter, baseball, the Kansas City Royals, and history. What I'm going to try to do is look at baseball from an international perspective, how the game is spreading around the globe, and how the game is portrayed and viewed in other countries.

As far as content, I'm not a news service and won't be posting about trades, or box scores, or particular games. I won't be doing a lot of stuff on Major League Baseball, because, you know, the 1,000,001st blog about MLB just won't get taken seriously. On occasion, I will add in some essay-type posts about baseball in general and how I see things. Just because I want to and I can.

I will also write on any topic I feel like, adding my own perspective to things, from my experience of living around the world, my life in the Army, my love of history, and my knowledge of politics and government.

Looking for interviews

If you write a baseball related blog that covers the international game, or the history of the game, or some less than normal blog, and would like to be interviewed on this blog, please let me know.

As of this time, I am not looking for people who cover MLB or a specific team, and want to confine it to people who cover baseball outside the box.

Looking for something different

I'm enjoying what I'm doing here, but I would like to do more. I'll be the first to admit I don't get a lot of hits. I don't do it for that, but it's nice to know someone is reading.

If anyone out there runs a site about international baseball, and would be interesting in me joining them as a contributor, I'd be more than willing.

I'm not looking for compensation, just an expanded opportunity.
